Global and Local Axes

Global coordinate system shows the global X-, Y-, and Z-directions in the model.

Local coordinate system shows the local 1-, 2-, and 3-directions in the element.

The RGB rule works for the color designation of axes: Red (X, 1) — Green (Y, 2) — Blue (Z, 3).

The coordinate systems are right-handed: the location of the axes can be determined by the right-hand rule.

Load Patterns in CSI

The list of load pattern types and their names may vary depending on the CSI program.

The most used types of load patterns:

• Dead — load from the dead weight of the structures.
• SuperDead — additional dead load. For example, from the weight of floors, walls, etc.
• Live — live load.
• Wind **— wind load.
• Snow — snow load.
• Other — other types of loads that are not included in the list.
